Standards and Policies

Thank you for choosing Rare Air Werx Custom Painting for your custom paint needs. We strive to make every job the best possible. Here, at Rare Air Werx, we are known for our personability and honesty in our business dealings. We have been trained in our fields by some of the best, so we want to make sure they are happy to be able to say they know us.

We would love to meet every customer face to face so we could get to know each and every one of you. Unfortunately, time constraints and distance often does not allow us this option. So we like to keep lines of communication open as much as possible from the design all the way to delivery and after! Always feel free to email or drop us a line for any questions you may have. We can also send digital pictures via email to you of the process and details of the job in progress. This allows you to be part of the process from start to finish whether you live 20 minutes or 20 hours from us!

As you may know, we are a small business compared to some. We will usually work on one project at a time. We refuse to push a job through just to get to the next one and forfeit quality! Everyone says it, but we prove it: EACH JOB, NO MATTER HOW BIG OR SMALL, IS TREATED AS IF IT WERE OUR OWN!!! We want you to be proud of your paint job and also be proud to tell everyone were you got it done.

Job Process

All pieces that are to be painted by us are stripped to the bare metal, re-worked, primed, sanded and resealed*. Then the paint work can start. This is the ONLY way we are able to guarantee our work. Yes, it is possible to have a killer custom paint job, that looks great applied to pre-painted parts. However, if the underlying paint layer, or in some cases, layers start to peel or otherwise mess up, nothing can be done to repair the job except to start all over. Costly to the customer, and very avoidable by following our process.

When all of the base colors and artwork, graphics, and pin-stripes are applied, then comes the final clearcoat sessions. We will clearcoat, wetsand, re-clear and keep this up until there are no weight lines from paint or edges from artwork left. Then we clear one final time and start the buffing and polishing process. This consists of 4 different steps on each piece that we clear. It is time consuming, but it also is the only way that we can achieve the level of perfection that we pride ourselves on. We have all seen jobs that have pretty cool graphics or airbrushing only to be cleared in a less than acceptable way. It can litterally ruin the whole impact of a killer paint job! We always say, "It aint custom if you cant count the hairs on your arm in the reflection"

*Unless otherwise agreed upon and warantee waiver is signed prior to work starting.
